Albanians occupied Budva, Serbs are in Ulcinj: This is what the tourist season in Montenegro looks like
The director of the Tourist Organisation Fatmir Djeka thinks that it is a common practice in tourism that more and more Albanians and people from Kosovo are coming for a vacation in Budva
The city with mostly Albanian citizens is avoided even by those who are naturally gravitating towards them, Albanians and citizens of Kosovo.
According to the Tourist Organization of Budva, 17,496 tourists from Albania and 6,281 guests from Kosovo have been registered so far in the city, an increase of 32 or 40% compared to the previous year, "Vijesti" reported.
Traditional guests from Macedonia decided to spend their summer in Sutumore, while citizens of Kosovo who used to go to Ulcinj went to Sindjin.
For the famous tourism businessman and a hotelier Ganij Resulbegovic, that is not a surprise.
- A quality guest is running away from all of this chaos from loud music and dirt. That is not just the case with the quality guests from Albania and Kosovo, but also from clients from the west. I said that at the start of the season, and unfortunately, it became a trend - Resulbegovic said.
- Everybody has the right to change the city where they went for years and to see what other destinations have to offer. This year, we have the most guests from Serbia in Ulcinj - the director of TO Fatmir Djeka said.
Reconstruction of the road from Ulcinj to Vladimir's Kruti, which was temporarily released for use at the beginning of July, is over a month late, and many think that it is a reason why there were so few tourists in the city.
- The road has nothing to do with rich clients that we are talking about. Booking is open from September - Resulbegovic said.
The Ulcinj Municipality Administration warned landlords and all those who are engaged in tourist activities to respect the law.
They state that the problems are "increased occupation of public areas with chairs and tables in front of the hospitality objects, the setting of stands without permission, unregistered guests, taking out of the trash outside of the registered terminals for waste, loud music, parking violations.
