The village Novi Kozarci near Kikinda never ceases to amaze us. At first, they baked a pie for the Guinness book of records which is over 30 meters long, and then, on the sports stadium, the strongest people in Europe came to test their strength. 16th "Strong Men" competition was held, a first-class sports event.

Red Star was lucky in the draw - against Legia or Spartak for the playoffs!

The current world champion Matjaz Belzak (25) from Slovenia became the strongest man of Europe. He beat every other opponent in all 6 competitions and he took the title of the champion.

According to the winner, all disciplines were a challenge, a 10-ton truck pull, a farmer's walk, and a boulder lift.

- I have been training since I was seventeen, discipline is very important in this sport regarding nutrition and training. I received my first recognition in this sport right here in your place. I am very pleased that this has repeated again, the conditions were excellent and I will come again  - said the strong Matjaz.

Maros Kubovic from Slovakia was no weaker, he took the second place, and Jozef Tomazevski from Poland was right behind him.

Strong Man Europe is a first-class sports event started by Dragan Bogojevic from the bodybuilding club "Freedom" from Novi Kozarci. Unfortunately, he couldn't participate this year, but that didn't stop him from organizing this unique competition in Banat which gathers the strongest people from Europe.

The disciplines where Matjaz won were - pulling the 10-ton truck, farmer's walk (carrying of two cases which weight 145kg), lifting of the log (Viking press), lifting of the car, rolling of the 450kg tire and carrying 380kg. Slovenian defeated his opponents from Poland, Austria, Hungary and Romania in all six categories.

The city of Kikinda held a sports manifestation which is very important for the promotion of sports, especially in the village environment where the Strongman cup is being held.

Vladimir Batez, the Provincial Secretary for Sports and Youth, also attended this competition and stressed that he hoped the competition would be raised to an even higher level, but it certainly deserved attention due to the affirmation of this type of sport.

The competition "Strong men" is licensed and counted for the Cup of Europe. In addition to the competitors from Slovenia, the forces from India, Poland, Hungary, Romania, the Czech Republic and Slovakia were also competing in Novi Kozarci.
