26 years have passed since the killing of 69 Serbian civilians and soldiers by Muslim forces under the command of Naser Oric in Petrovdan in 1992 in the Srebrenica villages of Zalazje and Sasa, and in Biljaca and Zagoni.
That Petrovdan in 1992 was a black day for Serbs. 17 victims did not survive the attack of their former neighbors, colleagues from the workplace and friends. On July 20, in Donji Magasici, Oric and his soldiers killed 12 people, including six women.
Jezestica and Siljkovici were attacked on August 8, 1992, when nine people were killed, including Savka Mladenovic with two sons. They cut off Andjelko's head and they took it to Srebrenica, where they played football with it.
The systematic planned ethnic cleansing of Serb territories begun in April 1992, strong Muslim forces from Srebrenica under the command of Naser Oric stormed into several Serb villages on July 12 in Srebrenica and Bratunac municipalities, killing, robbing and setting on fire everything on their path.
69 people were killed in hand-to-hand combat, and a lot more Serbian fighters and civilians were wounded. Besides 69 killed people, 22 Serbs went missing on that tragic Petrovdan, of which 10 are still listed as missing, and seven of them were captured alive and are still not found.
Out of 22 missing, 10 were accidentally exhumed on June 10, 2011, from a mass grave at Zalazja while searching for the Bosniak victims. The remains of the victims were later identified and buried on Petrovdan in 2012, while two were exhumed, identified and buried before.
Nobody answered to these and many other crimes committed against Serbs from Srebrenica and central Podrinje.
