Trump's new plan for Kosovo? A new ambassador of the USA is arriving in Kosovo who has two specialties
Kosnett's career is mostly focused on international cooperation in the field of security and political reconciliation
US President Donald Trump plans to appoint Phillip S. Kosnett, acting ambassador to Turkey, as the new US ambassador to Kosovo.
95 percent of the Serbs on Kosovo fear for their lives!
Kosnett came to Ankara after being the director of the South East European Affairs Office at the State Department, responsible for United States relations with Turkey, Greece, and Cyprus.
Kosnett's career is mostly focused on international cooperation in the field of security and political reconciliation, which is quite indicative, given that the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina is entering the final phase.
So far, Kosnett has performed diplomatic duties in eight US missions in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, and he has been in high positions in the State Department, where he worked in offices for Europe and the fight against terrorism, as well as on political-military intelligence duties.
He was Deputy Head of Mission in Uzbekistan and Iceland, and he was also engaged in political, military and economic-commercial positions in Afghanistan, Iraq, Kosovo, the Netherlands, and Japan. Earlier he served in Ankara at the beginning of his diplomatic career, as a political and consular officer.
He holds numerous high honors, graduated from Harvard and speaks Turkish, Russian, Dutch and Japanese.
It is interesting that before joining diplomacy he worked as a game designer and teacher in Japan.
