Croatia marks Statehood Day: The authorities laid wreaths on Tudjman's grave

Croatia today marks the Statehood Day when the Croatian Parliament decided to initiate the process of separation from other republics of SFRY and the Declaration on the proclamation of a sovereign and the independent Republic of Croatia.

On this occasion, the state top laid wreaths on the Homeland Altar in Medvedgrad, at Mirogoj, at the monument "Voice of the Croatian Victim - Wall Pain" and at the tomb of the first Croatian President Franjo Tudjman

President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic, President of the Croatian Parliament Gordan Jandrokovic and others will then attend Mass for the Homeland in the church of St Marko - Hina reports.

The Archbishop of Zagreb, Cardinal Josip Bozanic, will hold the Mass.

A reception will be held in the office of the President at Pantovcak in the afternoon.

Statehood Day is a date marked as the date when the Croatian Parliament passed the Constitutional Decision on the Independence and Sovereignty of the Republic of Croatia, declaring the Republic of Croatia an autonomous and independent state.
