New Victory of Serbia! Another country withdrew recognition of Kosovo

Liberia also withdrew recognition of Kosovo as an independent state

Liberia withdrew recognition of Kosovo's independence, it was confirmed to Telegraf.rs.

Pristina now has only one goal: To get to Gazivode Lake! But the real plan is far more sinister

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Liberia Gbehzohngar Milton Findley handed over a note on the withdrawal of recognition of Kosovo's independence to deputy prime minister and foreign minister Ivica Dacic, while the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina is taking place.

The note states that Liberia has recognized Kosovo's independence based on the knowledge that Belgrade is not ready to negotiate a solution with the southern province of Kosovo.

- Today, the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina is under the auspices of the EU. Bearing this in mind, it was only appropriate for Liberia to take the stance that provides an appropriate solution for the citizens of Serbia and the province of Kosovo, which is done through the current negotiations. In line with this, Liberia nullifies its recognition of Kosovo. This decision remains in force until the end of the talks and negotiations under the auspices of the EU - the note states.

Liberia is not the first country to withdraw the recognition of Kosovo, but the exact number of those who recognized Kosovo, at least judging by the statements of Belgrade and Pristina, remains unknown.

The first state to withdraw recognition is Suriname, who made the decision on October 27, 2017. Sao Tome and Principe also changed their mind, and at the end of last year, Guinea-Bissau withdrew recognition as well.

Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic announced last year that Burundi withdrew recognition.

Liberia recognized Kosovo on May 30, 2008.
