Goran could go to prison for roasting peppers for "ajvar" in Canada, and now he is asking for compensation of 15 million dollars!
Rosic is currently in Belgrade and he has brought all of his barbecue appliances to Serbia
Goran Rosic, probably the only Serb in the world who got to court for roasting peppers in his own yard, and the state authorities couldn't sentence him after the one-year long trial. Moreover, Rosic managed to turn the entire case into his own advantage.
The married couple Rosic was face to face with the Canadian judicial authorities only because he wanted to make a home-made Ajvar by roasting peppers in the old Serbian way, and the news about that became a hit on almost all home media. The neighbor reported him, and the firefighters rushed to his yard as soon as possible, and then there was a lawsuit. He was fined with 50.000 dollars or a prison sentence of one year if he didn't pay.
He claimed last year that he won't give a single cent. He remained true to himself to this day. In the end, they even had to remove him from the courtroom because, as Rosic said for BKTVNews, one of the firefighters admitted that the photo of the barbeque in his case was planted and he was framed.
- The only option for them was to think of something against me. I immediately said in the courtroom: "Mister Judge, you have a clear situation, you see that this photo is a fake, I demand to stop this trial against me - Rosic added admitting that the judge's response surprised him, but it didn't discourage him.
In the end, the judge fined Goran with 305 dollars, and also his wife with the same amount of money. However, Rosic didn't give up so easily, he filed a complaint right away, and his case got to a Higher Court on March 13th.
- A lawyer of the municipality where I live waited for me there. He told the judge that I was in the municipality to ask for 5 million dollars of compensation because I was unjustly punished - It is not true that I asked for that amount of money. I asked for 15 million dollars! We will go to the end, gentlemen, that is why I told them - he said.
A new trial has been scheduled for 17th Jully. Rosic claims that the judge won't allow for his case to end up at the Supreme Court of Canada, because in that case, according to him, all the dirt they planted me throughout the case will come out to the light. Depending on the outcome of the case, he said that the mayor of Fort Erie, the city where Rosic lives, will lose his job.
When the dust about court fraud settled down a bit, Rosic decided to spice things up a bit. This time not on the court and with arguments and documents, but in the yard with peppers. Again.
- Firefighters came again in October of the last year, it was a Sunday morning, I remember, a truck came in front of my house, and some woman came out. I immediately knew what it was about and I said right away "before you try anything, I have to ask you. Do you have a warrant to enter my property"? She knew that they don't have it so she called the police to do it for her" - Rosic said for BKTVNews.
Two police officers came soon after. He took them to the yard and he pointed to the windows on the neighboring house. Two cameras were set to record what he was doing.
- The moment you get in your car and you start going away from here you have 30 minutes to remove these cameras. And if you gentlemen police officers don't do it, I am going in, I am taking them down and I break them, I don't want anyone to spy on me and my family. The police officer entered the neighbor and he took down the cameras - Goran said.
