After Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic announced that Croatia will deny hospitality to an accredited Russian diplomat in Zagreb, Jutarnji List writes that the invitation of Croatian President Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic to her Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, to visit Croatia remains.

As announced, Plenkovic, after meeting with President Kitarovic, announced that the Official Zagreb will expel a Russian diplomat in solidarity with Britain which is accusing Russia of the attacking the double spy Sergei Skripal with a nerve gas and his daughter in Solsbury.

The president Grabar-Kitarovic invited Putin to official visit during the recent telephone talk, and she congratulated the election victory, and Plenkovic marked her move as a continuation of dialogue with Putin, which was started with her visit to Sochi last year.

Otherwise, Zagreb did not announce the name of a Russian diplomat who was expelled. This is not the first time that some foreign diplomats are proclaimed as a "persona non-grata" in Croatia.

Two years ago, Croatia expelled a Russian diplomat, first secretary of the consulate in Zagreb, the Croatian side accused him of spying, and then the Russians expelled the Croatian diplomat out of Moscow.
