Milesa (23) is a farmer, she takes care of cows and fields, but no one takes her seriously because she is a real beauty! They all watch her white yoga pants (PHOTO)
- If I were a man, they would ask for the price of calves and the model of a tractor. When I write something, they ask me whose farm am I photographing - she said
As a young farmer, Milesa Radojevic (23) from the village Brancic near Ljig, tried to discuss in the groups whose subject is agriculture and she faced ridicule and mistrust. The question is - is it because she is a woman, if because she is young and beautiful, or because she likes to take photos like the most of her age?
When she posted an ad that she is looking for workers on the far in one Facebook group, they didn't believe her and they wrote rude comments. When Milesa posted an ad that she sells calves, a man wrote that someone will call her on the phone who knows nothing about the ad.
- If I were a man, they would ask for the price of calves and the model of a tractor. When I write something, they ask me whose farm am I photographing, why am I in white yoga pants or in a shirt, and what I do is too little or just bad.
And if it's good, they neglect it because I took a picture and posted it - this young woman comments.
Milesa is 23 years old, she is divorced and she lives with parents with 2 children, a daughter of six, and a son of four. The farm is huge, there is a lot of work, and the family has to have at least one hired worker. Milesa is working on the field, in a garden, and in the barn, she is a housewife and a mother of two children at the same time. When she goes out she looks like a little town girl.
- We are doing exclusively agriculture. We have 35 dairy cows and our main activity is milk production, 500 liters a day. We have calves and bulls for sale, all in total 70. We are growing corn, wheat, Alfalfa, on 30 hectares of land, some of it is ours, some of it is rented. When I am in the barn, my job is to milk them, we have a milking line, and it can process 4 cows at any moment. I drive some of our five tractors, I gather hay. I gather clovers in the season, I prepare it for the cattle. And if there isn't any work, then I am in the garden. There is always some work in the village - Milesa explains.
She goes into details, about how hard it is to find and keep a good worker on the farm, she complains about the low price of milk, she talks about tractors. She wants to know the founding of farmer associations. But when Milesa asks for an opinion on social networks about some agricultural subjects, they criticise her for pouting her lips, they comment on her clothes and clogs. And all of that at the time when most of the youth, especially girls, are running away from the village.
- We also have phones with a camera on the village, and I don't know why is it a problem because we take and post pictures, but I have to say no one criticizes men when they take photos in the field. I don't know why is it a problem because I take photos in clean clothes and in shorts, no woman will take a photo when they are dirty and no one criticizes city girls when they are in shorts on 40 degrees - Milesa said with the mention that she won't back down before stupid comments.
This young woman said that she likes living in the village, and that modern technologies help her learn something from others on social networks and to have some fun after a hard day.
- You used to exchange experiences with your villages, and now, using the social networks, you can seek advise of farmers from all over Serbia. Or yo share photos and videos with them, to show them your work day - this young farmer explains.
On a comment that her beauty is a probably greater problem than being a woman, Milesa said that she doesn't believe that because no one criticizes handsome men for taking pictures of their muscles.
- It seems to me that it is a miracle in Serbia that a young woman lives in the village and she is bragging about that, which pictures show. I am proud of it, I was thought to do this from a young age, and without neglecting fun, nor taking care of myself. And I am teaching my children the same - help your mom this, help that, because everything is interesting to them when they are little, and when they grow up, they will have work habits - this young mother explains.
After all, are Milesa's clogs and that's that big of a problem?
