DEFEATING STATISTICS: The number of people sick with measles increasing - there are currently 1.327 registered cases

The youngest sick person is one and a half months old, and the oldest is 60 years old

Since the beginning of October 2017, up to this day, there have been 1.327 registered cases of measles in Serbia, including the territory under the jurisdiction of Public Health Institute Kosovska Mitrovica, announced by the Institute for public health of Serbia "Dr. Milan Jovanovic Batut".

As announced in the statement, 660 of them were confirmed in the laboratory in the Institute Torlak.

According to today's statement, the youngest sick person is one and a half months old, and the oldest is 60 years old. The largest number of people who are sick are in the age groups younger than 5 and older than 30 years.

The most of the adults, 94 percent of them, are not vaccinated, incompletely vaccinated, or of unknown vaccine status, the statement said.

As it was added, due to a large number of sick, 33 percent was hospitalized or the hospitalization is in progress.

Pneumonia was registered with 164 sick people, regarding serious complications caused by measles - noted in the statement.
