Croatian TV presenter finished the show with a short and powerful message (VIDEO)
- It's not normal that no one answers for cursing and death threats on social media - Aleksandar Stankovic said
Croatian journalist Aleksandar Stankovic finished the show "Sunday at two" on HRT with the appeal to suppress the spread of hatred in the media.
According to his worlds, it's not normal that no one answers for cursing and death threats on social media and public space.
- The state can and must sanction media that allow and encourage revenge on others. Portals that transmit threats in their comments must be punished - Stankovic said.
- Here's a suggestion, when there are threats and insults of other people - forbid comments under the texts for a month. If that happens again, fine them with 100.000 kunas (around 13450 euros), and it won't happen again - Stankovic said.
Besides that, Stankovic appealed to the Parliament, Croatian Government, political parties, and Croatian Independent Democrats to put an end to the "intolerance in media" with a legal proposal on electronic media.
At the end of the show, he raised a poster stating "Stop hatred in media".
