Serbia on the European path: Two new chapters have been opened in Brussels

According to the expectations of Croatian European parliamentarians, that could happen by 2019.

The main attitude of the proposer of this major change in the EU entry and exit system is that the Union should not have second-tier states and that it is therefore proposed that the Schengen zone should be expanded to Bulgaria, Romania, and Croatia, "Jutarnji List" writes.

It is now expected from Croatia to meet all the criteria for joining the Schengen zone by the end of next year, and it is up to Council to accept everything that has been done.

"Jutarnji" states that the entry into Schengen zone is a political decision which requires a unanimous vote from the European Council.

The Council stated that the process of evaluation of Croatia is still ongoing that certain deficiencies are being solved, but also that there are very few questions remaining on which they expect the suggestions from the European Commision in the near future, reports "Jutarnji List".
