According to Alo, under the excuse of the alleged expanding of the gallery of icons, Bishop of Herzegovina ordered the only legitimate representatives of Serbs from Dubrovnik to leave a small 15 square meters office, and they have been paying to the Church and Herzegovina Diocese monthly rent of 2.000 kunas (260 euros) for years.

The office is crucial for the work and functioning of the only national association of Serbs in the Dubrovnik-Neretva County, which takes care of the position of Serbs in the extreme south of Croatia, according to a letter to Patriarch Irinej.

- Unfortunately, to the great disappointment of the Dubrovnik Serbs, Bishop Grigorije decided to throw out Serbs on the street and to jeopardize the work of the Council, and the alleged expanding of the gallery for icons is just an excuse for this unreasonable move. Serbs in Dubrovnik, in the letter addressed to the Patriarch Irinej and Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church, believe that the bishop intends to further commercialize the church space by opening restaurants - say the Dubrovnik Serbs.

They further state that the Serbian Orthodox Church has very valuable property in the core of the ancient Dubrovnik, thanks to Serbian traders and benefactors, the families Bubalo, Nikolajevic, Boskovic and other, who gifted the property to our church with the aim to help Serbs, the work of national associations and organizations. Dozens of apartments and business premises in the most attractive locations around Stradun are rented by Herzegovina Diocese at the incredible prices, and they make millions annually from them.

- The logical question is being asked, why the diocese could not leave one small room of 15 square meters for the work of the key Serbian National Organization, which paid the rent and all obligations to the Diocese? Is it more important to expand the art exhibit or to open a restaurant, and jeopardize the work of the Serbian members of the council, who are extremely conscientious, fair and responsible in their work?

- Shouldn't diocese allocate rooms and part of the money to the Council to help their work, the return of the people and the property, preserving of tradition and identity, and to stop the process of disappearance of Serbs in Dubrovnik? Isn't it logical for the bishop to gather the few Serbs, to talk to them about numerous problems and to try to help them in hard times, instead of forcing them, ignoring them, humiliating and insulting them?

For this reason, the Serbs will launch a petition requesting Patriarch Irinej to exclude them from the jurisdiction of an unworthy bishop.
