Young people are massively moving away from Balkans to Germany: They will return only under one condition, and 80% left for the same reason
More than 50 percent of the youth is going to other countries on their own, more than 30 percent are asking for help from the relatives or friends
Young people who leave Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Serbia, Croatia, and Montenegro will return to their own country only if the possibility to get a job and to build a career is secured, showed the results of the online survey done between July and August by Institute for Development of Youth KULT.

720 people participated in the survey, from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro and Croatia, from 15 to 35 years old, who already moved out of the mentioned countries in the past three years or have already started the process of moving out with the intention to leave their country in near future, reports N1 TV from Sarajevo.
According to the survey results, most young people moved to Germany, followed by Austria, Sweden, Slovenia, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Spain, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic...
More than 50 percent of the young are going to other countries on their own, more than 30 percent are asking for help from the relatives or friends, while less than 10 percent uses the services of agencies to find them a job.
Around 80 percent of the young people list the reason for leaving that they don't see that anything will improve in their country, they don't see their future getting any better, and for reasons they list "dissatisfaction caused by the political situation, the presence of corruption, unemployment, over-representation of national, religious and wartime issues, and dissatisfaction with work and income".
Young people expect better educational and health system according to the surveys, better living environment, better possibility to get a job and better safety situation.
More than 30 percent of the people don't plan on returning to their native country, while the others will do so if they have the opportunity to have a better life in their country.
When it comes to family moving, close to 60 percent of the people answered positively, more than 20 percent answered that their families are preparing to leave, while 10 percent answered negatively.
Citizens with professions like programmers, engineers and construction engineers, doctors, and other medical staff, and highly qualified work force are leaving Bosnia and Herzegovina the most.
At least two million people who have origins from BiH live abroad, which is 53 percent of the total number living in BiH (3.791622).
Numerous doctors, specialists, pharmacists, medical technicians, and carers have left BiH, which results in the fact that BiH currently has 200 doctors per 100,000 inhabitants, which is less than the European average of 362 doctors.
Bosnia and Herzegovina ranked 131st out of 133 countries in the category of "brain drain" during the World Economic Forum in 2010.
Since 1995, 79 percent of researchers in the field of engineering, 81 percent of MSc and 75 percent of doctors of science have left BiH.
