How to become HIM: His photos are made during night and they leave no one feeling indifferent (PHOTO)
- When I started looking everything by frames, I realized that I am different from the rest - said Milos through the smile
"If someone asked me, I would sit on the top of the mountain and I would count stars"... This was one of the latest updates of the artist, talented Milos Toskovic (23) whose photos are amazing the visitors of Facebook, Instagram and other social networks every day. And what is really true, he would really sit there because his greatest fascinations are these sparkly dots in the sky...
This man born in Loznica is actually graduating from Music Academy in Belgrade, department for piano, and he takes photographs equally good, if not better. The high school he attended was "Mihailo Vukdragovic" in Sabac, and his unfulfilled desire is paintings.
- I was always attracted that and I realized I wasn't gifted for painting, so I traded that art with photography. That is the reason I use a lot of color and refraction of color. Above all, my girlfriend is a painter. We make each other whole - reveals Toskovic.
Love for photography has "carried" him in short time, but he will try for Master studies on Music Academy in September. Thanks to the good music he made some pocket money last year, playing jazz in one club. Besides that, he doesn't want a serious job so he has time for studies and recording.
He began to get interested in photography three years ago. His parents were afraid at the start not to abandon college, but fifteen years with piano are not erased so quickly.
- I got interested in photography over the phone. People told me: "Wow, you really have the eye for it. Why don't you try something more serious?" I was skeptical, I didn't want to do that. When I saw that a lot of people have positive reactions to my photos, I started doing that a bit more seriously. I bought a better phone with a better 20-megapixel camera and I could do whatever I wanted with that camera. Last year I bought a Nikon 3300 camera and my life changed - reveals Toskovic.
He realized that it is "serious" when he began observing objects by the frames.
- I see this tree and I imagine in what frame could I put it. When I started observing everything like that I realized that I was different from the others - said Milos through laughter.
HE IS FASCINATED WITH THE SKY AND STARS
He is taking photos of everything, mostly nature, but lately, he likes doing portraits. He takes photos around 5-6 in the afternoon until the sundown, and one hour after that.
- Some are calling that the Golden hour, someone the Blue hour. The sun is bothering me because I have bright eyes, so my favorite time of the day to work is dusk.
He is fascinated by the stars, universe, the sky... His goal is to do astrographic in the future, taking pictures of the sky and the stars.
- I liked to get lost as a child and to find a place where there are no city lights, to lie down in the grass and to enjoy the stars. I loved looking at them, especially in the village at my grandpa, where the sky is more open. The most beautiful is after the rain because the air clear. Milky Way started attracting me a year ago so I started exploring it on youtube to see how it really looks like because it is so hard to see it with a naked eye.
One of his most beautiful photos entered in one of top 100 in Nikon choice. It is the photo of Tara with stars.
- We didn't receive a reward, but getting there is enough reward on itself and the honor. Besides that, I realized that there is the same place in Russia, so everybody who saw the photo thought it was Russian Tara - said Milos.
He doesn't hide that he uses photoshop and that he is ready to spend more time editing photos than studying for the exam for the academy.
- I worked a lot with photoshop, but I am doing corrections mostly. I try to take a photo as I see it with my eyes. It happens that I take a photo of the Temple of St Sava, and it is too bright or too dark, so I put some shades to be as I saw it. However, the most beautiful feeling is when you don't even have to touch the photo, but it remains as it is.
HOW TO BECOME A PHOTOGRAPHER LIKE THAT
- You need enormous love for that and to give up from friends calling to go somewhere. I sometimes end up 10 hours stuck on the computer working on the photo or some roommate enters and says: "You are still on the computer, are you crazy?" You need patience, risk, luck, knowledge, technology... although the equipment is the least important. It can help because it will reduce time spent on the computer. If I had better equipment I would probably need 2 to 3 hours to finish a photo. Fixing of the noise is taking a lot of time - Milos is sincere.
Persistence and patience have paid off many times and thanks to that he managed to capture some almost impossible photos.
- I like to compare making photos with fishing. I recently went to take photos of a meteor shower, we waited and waited for something to show up. We literally fished for meteors and on the last photo, you can see a massive meteor falling across the entire sky. I sometimes dived into quicked and deeper rivers to take some photo. I sometimes risk my gear. I placed my camera on a stone in the sea. I didn't have any tripod and I was afraid that it will fall down. That is risking of the equipment, but I sometimes risked my life...
Yes, Milos would really like to sit on the top of some mountain, but he would also like to be in the student's home during his master studies and to experience the atmosphere of the student's life. He would get more time for his hobby, he things because everything would be near, a cafeteria which would shorten the time to get and prepare food.
