Milena (19) will go to college without entrance exam. No, she doesn't have a connection, she has awards from 5 state competitions
This girl from Jagodina would rather buy literary works than wardrobe or makeup
Milena Milosavljevic (19) from Jagodina can forget about the stress for taking the entrance exam. She can even walk formally to the Faculty of Philology in Belgrade with student Index card, because she already enrolled to the studies, even though her case reminds on many mommy and daddy's girls who reached diploma, job and other protections in life through connections, and when you take a closer look, you will see that she is the pride of Serbia!
Graduate student of High school in Jagodina "Svetozar Markovic" reached this benefits thanks to her own work, talent and knowledge: as an straight A student, she is an owner of the prestigious reward of the fund "Jovan Cakic" for scientific excellence, and also the owner of five awards from state competitions from Serbian language and literature.
- I ensured college last year when i won second place last year on the competition in Trsic from Serbian language and language culture, and on the Literature Olympiad in Sremski Karlovci, third place. Also, this year, in fourth year i got second place, again from the competition from Serbian Language and language culture.
- I had straight A's from the first grade of elementary school, till the end of high school. Even in first semester. I don't want to seem to pretentious, but school never took too much time for me, i always could organize well to hang out with friends, watching movies or reading - said this graduate who has special love towards school (and any other) literature and has a special gift for grammatical dilemmas.
As she said, during her schooling she won different awards from biology and match, but she chose language studies because of the teacher from elementary and professor from high school that recognized her potential, and then they together prepared for all extracurricular activities.
- They guided me and i am very grateful for that. That is what i love and what i want to do in the future. I see myself as a professor, and later in life, i would work on preserving Serbian language, more precisely, preserving the identity of the people, with special priority to elevate the consciousness of citizens for such an important issue - said this future freshmen.
Milena emphasizes that rapid communication on social networks and the Internet has contributed to the impoverishment of the lexical fund and the neglect of grammatical and spelling rules.
- It annoys me the most when people show elementary ignorance with "I can not" (nemogu) or "If" (dali) or wrong use of case, or when someone uses foreign words instead of our. Everything is about sharing liking these days. That doesn't mean that i correct mistakes of my friends and acquaintances, because they don't look good to the advice, and it is a mass phenomenon. I think that language speaks about personality and presents someone's knowledge, that is why there is a saying "Speak to see who you are" - she said and she adds that she writes in Cyrillic because she likes it personally, it is a nice letter representing something that differs us from other people.
From the compulsory literature (which she read among the first, many times or before time), she enjoyed the most in Hamlet and Crime and prejudice.
- I appreciate the Russian classics, I know it sounds boring, but they are unmatched. I would also like to point out Ivo Andric and Mesa Selimovic, and from the Spanish writer Karlos Ruiz Safon and the author of the Games of the Thrones. I think I can boast of an enviable collection of books - concludes this talented girl, with a modest comment that "she rather buys literary works than wardrobe or make-up."
