For him crveno (red) is "red", and he always asks "why", and mleko (milk) is "milk".
Parents have realized that they face a serious problem of communication in the development of their child.
- He was not moving away from a baby-channel and they broadcast cartoons in English language. As much as we initially thought that our child is advanced and intelligent and that he learned foreign language so early, we understood that we are facing great problems. And that is he refuses to talk in Serbian with his peers, and grandparents when they babysit him, they don't understand a single word.
- We are in awe and fear that we will have serious problems in communication if it does not stop in time - 26 year old mother said for "Jugmedia".
There are even two private kindergartens in English in Leskovac that parents take children to because of prestige.
Experts from the Developmental counseling Leskovac child health center, wherein this family asked for help, advice Urgent "elimination" of such a baby-channel and the inclusion of the child in the peer group, as well as more frequent and more natural communication with the baby in the development period.
- The child should be included in the peer group, sent to kindergarten, because of the development of communication and language, and the exclusion of all these channels with cartoons in a foreign language are advised - says psychologist Development counseling Snezana Stojanovic Plavsic.
Parents should be concerned about this phenomenon, since they can be a symptom of more serious developmental disorders.
- First of all autism spectrum. No need to scare the parents, they need to draw attention to the fact that if these English words appear isolated and do not serve in communication, then this is certainly a problem to turn to professionals. One of the symptoms of some form of autism is that the child has a communication problem - warns Stojanovic Plavsic.
Parents, unfortunately, often do not notice or do not want to accept it.
- What they do notice is that their child speaks a foreign language and they are proud of it. But they do not notice that their child has a stereotypical play and behavior, that their child does not fit properly in the peer group and other things that are essential for which they need to consult with specialists - she says.
