Military parade is held today in Moscow on the occasion of the Victory over Fascism in World War II. 10.000 soldiers are marching on the Red Square, 114 units of land forces and 72 units of air force. Russian president Vladimir Putin addressed the nation and the gathered people.

- Lessons of the past call us to be careful - said Putin, saying that Russian armed forces can repel any attack and can react to any threat.

Addressing the participants of the parade, president Putin congratulated the Victory day, and after that the national anthem of Russian federation was played.

- We are obliged to remember that the victory was won at great cost. We will never forget that the freedom of Europe and the long-awaited peace was just won by our fathers and grandfathers - said Putin.

- Events of the past impose on us a heavy responsibility before the future generations, to convey the spirit of the great victory and ensure peace and stability - added the Russian president.

Russia and the world celebrate 72 years of the victory in World War II. The Soviet Union in World War II suffered greatly, losing nine million soldiers.
