Serbia is distributing police officers across the country: They will have a very important duty
In this way, citizens will be able to get to know officers better, to express their opinion about safety, their feelings of security and the work of the police
Thousands of police officers will be distributed across Serbia this year where they will be in service of citizens for all safety needs and the problems they may have.
The number of police officers in police headquarters will depend of safety assessments. The law protectors will be recruited from already existing composition, and they will go under required training.
It is about the concept of police and community, and the reforms that are being administrated in the police force will establish a new work position in the community.
- It is about new form of prevention, based on the idea that the citizens and the police officers can do some things together. We want better communication with citizens - said Vladimir Stojkov for Politika, Head of Department for Organization, Prevention and Community Policing of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia.
The news is that police officers in the community will take care of the victims of criminal acts. In this way, citizens will be able to get to know officers better, to express their opinion about safety, their feelings of security and the work of the police.
In the spirit of cooperation of citizens and officers, theme days of open doors are planned.
In local communities and police facilities, citizens will be able to get a variety of advice or information regarding the prevention of drug addiction, alcoholism, gambling. Interested parties will be able to inform how to protect themselves from theft, robbery, electronic violence. They will talk about the family and peer violence.
Days of Open Doors will be specially reserved for children to get especially familiar with the work and activities of the police, to discuss various issues and develop confidence in order protectors and their work.
