ALARM IN KOSOVO: Possible terrorist attack, police on alert
Kosovo police started to implement a special operational plan, due to the threat of possible terrorist attacks
The US Embassy in Pristina called on its citizens in Kosmet to be vigilant in the coming days, during religious holidays and large gatherings and events, as stated in the statement, because of threats of possible terrorist actions. At the same time, the Kosovo police started to implement a special operational plan, said Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Kosovo, Milan Radojevic, while Kosovo Prime Minister Isa Mustafa held a meeting of the National Security Council at which they discussed the security situation in Kosovo.

The call to US citizens may apply for other people in Kosovo, to stay away from the crowd, to be careful during public gatherings because Orthodox and Catholic religious communities celebrate Easter.
The invitation states that terrorists in the region planned to attack the sensitive goals even before, including churches and places of warship, pedestrian malls, sports facilities and public gatherings.
In that sense, American embassy called upon their citizens to question their movement and intention, to ensure their personal protection.
Otherwise, all members of Kosovo police who are on vacation were ordered to return to work and their shifts have been extended to 12 hours.
The police officers on Kosovo are forbidden to take vacations until further notice, said the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Kosovo Milan Radojevic.
Radojevic has not denied, nor has confirmed that the reason for this move of Kosovo police is possibility of terrorist attacks in Kosovo, which the US Embassy in Pristina has warned about, as well as the possible protests by Kosovo opposition due to return to parliamentary procedure issues demarcation of the Kosovo border with Montenegro.
Radojevic said to Tanjug that Kosovo police, especially during the Easter holiday, will be on full alert stressing that certain measures have already been taken care of to additionally secure monasteries on Kosovo.
General Directorate of the Kosovo police in Pristina adopted the decision on a special operational plan.
Also, Kosovo Prime Minister Isa Mustafa held a meeting of the National Security Council at which they discussed the security situation in Kosovo.
The statement, published on the website of the government in Pristina, says that there were discussions on Thursday meeting about the actions Pristina institutions are taking to "protect the security and the constitutional order".
There were words on the meeting about the steps of relevant institutions "in preventing and coping with the challenges in the security sector".
