Serbian Government awarded Ivana Spanovic with 20.000 euros for gold medal on European championship in Belgrade

The Government of the Republic of Serbia adopted a decision to award the best Serbian athlete with 20,000 euros for gold at the European Championships in Belgrade

The Serbian government adopted on Friday decision on awarding cash prizes for sport results of the amount of 20,000 euros to Ivana Spanovic and her coach Goran Obradovic for winning a gold medal at the European Indoor Championship held in Belgrade in Olympic discipline - long jump.

- Adoption of this Decision is very important for the development and promotion of sports, for better motivation and preparation of athletes to achieve better results that will contribute to the affirmation of our country, and therefore it is of great importance and interest to the Republic of Serbia - said in a statement of Serbian Government Office for Cooperation with the media.

Ivana Spanovic defended the title of European indoor champion in Belgrade, and she did so by breaking her personal record and having jumped magical 7.24 meters in crowded Arena.
