Many remember with a melancholy of Yugoslavia and its lifelong president Josip Broz Tito, and the main reason is the special relationship of the state to the workers who were protected to the maximum.

The stories about skilled workers who reached to the director positions were not rare. Employees were given vouchers for a hot meal, and they ate in restaurants canteens or kiosks with hot dogs.

In Yugoslavia it was considered natural that employees should have a paid meal. 

Work hours were from 7 am to 15 pm, with a break, which is usually carried out in the above mentioned canteens. Saturday and Sunday were the work-free, except for those working organization in which the nature of the work required to work during the weekend.

And for vacations, there were mostly worker's resorts which were visited over the organisation of the syndicate

It could be paid in installments during the year, but this family vacation was quite a normal thing and rare were those who had not visited any of those appropriately named - worker's resorts.

Wages were mostly paid in cash within the company. The money was enclosed in a special envelope on which basic facts of the employee were listed and other data related to the calculation of wages. Taking a unpaid leave was no major problem, sick leave, a systematic medical examinations were required and implemented in all companies. 

If there was a death case, worker had rights for free funeral. If the death occurred during his work life, not during retirement, a member of the closest family was hired in the same organization so they could be able to still provide financial means for the family.
