AS IN THE SCARIEST HORROR: As soon as the lights go out, this hospital in Zenica becomes a hotbed of horror

They say that they are doing two preventive disinsection per year in all hospital objects in cantonal Hospital Zenica. If they spot cockroaches, they are doing targeted disinsection immediately

Cantonal Hospital Zenica (CHZ) has been fighting for years against the invasion of cockroaches, and some patients in certain departments of the health institutions are going through nightmares because of these insects.

Great news for Serbia: Four new clinical centers are being built according to the latest world standards!

During the day there are none, but the real chaos occurs when night falls and the lights in the room go out. Then their invasion begins, and they're everywhere - on the walls, the floor, wardrobes, beds and bedding of patients, writes Avaz.ba

To at least somehow cope with them, patients often sleep with the light on. Then there are less less cockroaches than when its total darkness.

Irfan Durkalic was recently operated, his appendix and was hospitalized at Surgery department in CH Zenica. This department has the most cockroaches.

- Surgery department is the worst. I was afraid of falling asleep and thinking that some insects could climb into m y mouth - Dirkalic adds that there are other patients and were were really not comfortable sleeping with the lights on.

However. there are departments in CH that can "brag" that they don't have cockroaches.

They say in Cantonal Hospital Zenica that they are doing two preventive disinsection per year in all hospital objects. If they spot cockroaches, they are doing targeted disinsection immediately.

- The result is continuous reduction in the number of cockroaches. One of the indications are less number of aimed disinsections in 2016, which is 30% of the 2015 - said Aida Buro, spokesman of the hospital.

Despite great affords they invest in rooting these insects, they are aware that the problem is not easily solvable.

We are aware that we will never exterminate all cockroaches, especially in the old objects, but we are doing everything to reduce their number - said Bruno.
