Kusturica and "No smoking orchestra" closely cooperated with Russian ensemble. Friendship was started in Kremlin 2012. and ensemble returned the visit to Kusturica in October of the same year with the concert in "Sava Centar", and they performed every year since.

- Nothing could be compared with "Alexandrov" ensemble! Their singing struck us to the bottom of our souls. We played together and never before, not later, have I felt the unique power of the human voice whose origins was always that "Hurrah", which we heard in Red Square - said Kusturica.

Kusturica pointed that they all "flew on those heights, mostly those who understood that its a shout of hospitality of Russian people and desire to introduce the extend of Russian soul through their singing, but also the Russian nostalgia".

"Alexandrov" was an ensemble that produced excitement, said Kusturica. 

"It is hard for a man to listen to them and to try not to shed a tear. It was a military ensemble nothing could be compared with, because military music did not produce profound human emotions, rather lofty sentiments. They awoke in us the entire spectrum of emotions", said Kusturica.
