RUSSIA SOLVING THE MOST IRRITATING PROBLEM WITH CROATIA: Russia donates 10 million euros for the sickest point in Balkans!

Negotiations are still ongoing, but Russia is ready

Russia is ready to fully pay for the introduction of cleaner production technologies in a large refinery in Bosanski Brod and they are negotiating with Croatian contractors. Air pollution would be drastically reduced which has been driving people crazy and which endangers the health of people in Slavonski Brod.

PUTIN HIT STRONGLY: West is trying to teach Russia what is democracy, but the bans are not the way

Russian ambassador in Croatia, Anvaz Azimirov, discovered for "24sata.hr" the details of the plan that could finally enable the solution of the, as he said, "the most irritating problem" i relationship between Moscow and Zagreb.

- Even though we have invested few million euros in filters and protection of the environment at Bosanski Brod refinery, there is only one and final solution - reveals Russian diplomat.

Refinery in Bosanski Brod is owned by the Russian state company "Zarubezhneft" from Moscow. The refinery, runs machines for the processing crude oil, and it is using the same oil that is processing. Given that it is a raw material which has a large percentage of chemical impurities, the most dangerous is sulfur, the pollution is too great and threatens the population in both Brods, Bosanski Brod and Slavonski.

- If the refinery switched to gas, we would be willing to pay for it all. We talk about possible options of project with private contractors from Croatia, but for finalization it is necessary to build part of a separate pipeline from the Croatia to Bosnia and Herzegovina, to the actual refinery - claims Azimov, who himself visited Slavonski Brod to ascertain the situation of pollution.

In that case, crude oil in the refinery would be replaced by gas which is much cleaner and ecologically more acceptable, and that would drastically reduce pollution in the air and environment. The price of the entire project is around 10 million euros and Russia pays for everything.

Igor Dekanic, respected oil expert, confirmed the possibility of introducing gas for the refinery would greatly reduce the air pollution and discovered that it is not the new idea and this possibility occurred once before. On the other hand, Russians, besides the cost, see the additional possibility of a profit because, the gas, to power the refinery, would come from Russia. Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, actually Republika Srpska, have been unsuccessfully negotiating about fixing the air pollution in Bosanski Brod.

Despite the signed protocols, residents of Slavonski Brod don't see any improvement. At the same time, refinery recorded serious losses grow from year to year. Revenues were in serious decline because of the situation in the oil business in the world. According to published data, the total loss of the refinery in Bosanski Brod grew to a total of 284 million euros.
