Nemanja's marriage lasted for 6 hours: Serbs are getting divorced faster and faster, but this boy's story will blow you away

Rare are the people who find the institution of marriage still meaningful, and more and more people are going with the logic "i can always get a divorce"

The institution of marriage is not taken seriously anymore in Serbia. Couples are getting divorces without celebrating their first anniversary

TERRIBLE CONFESSION OF A WOMAN FROM BELGRADE: Husband broke my leg while i breastfed the son, later he beat him up

We got the answer from the Institute of Statistics that the average duration of Serbian marriage is 13 years, and that more and more people get divorced after just a few months of marriage.

- Statistics of divorced couples noted that the average duration of the marriage which ended in divorce is 13,3 years. The duration of the shortest marriage was less than a year, because processing is not performed per months (for periods shorter than one year). The duration of the longest marriage which ended in divorce is 59 years - said from the Institute.

According to the available data, the couples get divorces mostly from 1st to 4th year of marriage, and the greatest number of divorces is recorded in that group, more than 2.000.

Rare are the people who find the institution of marriage still meaningful, and more and more people are going with the logic "i can always get a divorce".

- Weddings and marriage as if they became a joke. It seems that people get married out of pure fun, to have some party for a night, even make some money. I proposed to my wife when i became aware of the fact that i could not imagine my life without her. There were difficult times over nonsense, which are some small fight for my wife and me - Stevan P. gave his opinion about divorced, amazed with the fact that more and more marriages end with failure.

However, one of the craziest stories about marriage is certainly the one the man from Belgrade told Telegraf, who wanted to remain anonymous because his ex wife might cause him problems. Nemanja M.  married in noon, but soon he realized he wanted a divorce.

- I met my wife over the Facebook. We wrote and she seemed to be pretty nice and cultural. When we got together in person, sparks flew between us. We started dating, there were few awkward moments here and there, but me managed to overcome all of them. She flirted and dressed teasingly, and i was imposed. The wedding day arrived.

- We chose the godparents, got married around the noon in the restaurant. However, around six in the evening, just before the cake, i went to the bathroom, and i had a sight in front of me - her wedding dress was hanging outside of the cabin. I thought she got stuck and i asked if she was alright. She said that everything was OK. I bent to free the part of the dress that got stuck, but then i saw male shoes in there. I immediately broke the door out of anger and i saw her godfather with no pants with her all unkempt. The darkness came over my mind. I told her that we are over - Nemanja is honest.

Irrespective of Nemanja's incredible story, according to psychologists, if there is an institution of divorce as something that is considered quite normal, it is normal that the number of failed marriages high. People are not going to delay their decision, not even when they are not entirely sure that they are prepared for living with each other.

- The time we live in has changed, but also, so did we. Today, most of the people don't have time to meet with each other, so if they think that someone is appropriate, they want to try it out right away. Even when it's formal, its just one paper more or less. The consequences of that kind of attitude come later, because people did not got to know each other well enough.

Sometimes the divorce was an exception, today its a rule

- The rate of divorces was significantly lower. Today, it almost seems to be the rule. And now marriage almost comes as an exception. But the exaggeration in both ways like before, considering divorce to be disaster, has now resulted in moving into different direction, where divorces are like greetings, and marriage something that is not necessary and doesn't have to last - thinks Simic.

The shortest marriage in the world lasted for 5 minutes. What do you think, is Serbia on a right track to beat that record?
