Serbian place where soon there won't be any more babies: Is there help for this black statistics?

Since the beginning of 2016 in Crna Trava and all the surrounding villages only seven babies were born, while in 2013 there were none. If the trend continues, in Crna Trava, once known for its excellent builders, there will be no one who will maintain the homes.

According to the Republic Bureau of Statistics, the whole municipality has 1,409 inhabitants, of which only 80 are under 14 years old. 

Therefore, there is a fear that the Building Technical School "Milentije Popovic", which gave birth to the famous masters, will soon be left without pupils.

- It turns out that our most valuable thing, the Building school, became our greatest doom. Best builders are searched all over the country. People from Crna Trava built half of Belgrade, and its no wonder they are more there now than here - said the people for Juzne Vesti.

A drastic decrease in population occurred in the second half of the 20th century. According to Census in 1953, in Crna Trava there were almost 14,000 inhabitants, and in 2011 there are only 1,660.

The migration of entire families started in the early 60s, so in the next 20 years the population halved, according to the data of the publication "Natural movement of population in the Republic of Serbia 1961-2010", published by the Republic Statistical Office.

Already now there are more deaths than births in Crna Trava, a natural growth from year to year declines. While in 1961, 205 babies were born more than what people have died, while 51 people died, a six babies were born last year.
