Leaders in Brcko hospital confirmed that few days ago gave a 13-year-old girl gave birth to a child.
- She was admitted when contractions started and we, according to the regulations in those cases, performed a Caesarean section. Baby has 2.7 kilos, and the mother and the baby are both all right - said prim. dr. Slavko Nikic, head of gynecology hospital in Brcko.
Parents, brothers and sisters of this girl live in the suburbs of Modrica.
- She married in Brcko and after a year she got a child. I don't know how old is he, i just know he is a lot older. I cried tears of joy when she delivered. My partner and i are both sick, but we both forgot about our sickness when we got another grandchild - said the mother of the 13 year old girl who sees nothing wrong of her young daughter having a child.
Kada Ferhatovic rejected allegations that she sold her daughter for 2,000 KM. From the center for social work they say that the law is clear - with 16 years, with permission of parents, doctors and police, the marriage can be performed with certain conditions.
Investigation is ongoing and all institutions of Brcko district are involve, and if the "husband" of the 13 year old girl is found guilty, he is looking up to eight years in prison.
