First GAY MARRIAGE in Croatia, and it was BEHIND BARS
It is about middle-aged couple who is serving a prison sentence in Gospic
Two middle aged Croats serving their prison sentence in Gospic, they vowed to each other eternal love and did that behind bars. This would be the first case of same-sex marriage in Croatia.
The wedding took place in secret, and the couple had their limo when they came to the wedding. However sedan was not what everyone imagined, but it was a vehicle for transporting prisoners.
They could not hold hands because they were cuffed, but instead of relatives at the wedding it was attended by prison guards. The couple had big problems in finding godparents, so they postponed the wedding several times. In the end we do not know who took the rings to the newlyweds.
Despite being married, the pair won't serve their time in the same prison cell, so they were separated right after the wedding.
Croatia first recognized the same sex marriages in 2003, and the Assembly of the country brought a new law in 2014 where same sex marriage is possible, but not adopting children.
