IT'S NOT IMPORTANT IF SOMEONE IS ORTHODOX OR MUSLIM: Spoke the new Serbian Mufti!

- I wish to integrate the Muslim community into Serbian brotherhood, no matter what origin someone may be. We have to share good and bad, to be the unity of all citizens, said the new Serbian Mufti Abdulah Numan

Everybody was surprised with the news that Serb Ivan Trifunovic, who converted to Islamic religion and changed his name to Abdulah Numan, inherited Muhamed Jusufspahic, and became a new Serbian Mufti

MUSLIMS ARE BEING PROVOKED: Pig heads were thrown at the mosque in Ljubljana, Slovenia

- The Star is the first, but i am the second news - wittily commented Mufti Numan.

Abdulah said that it is a great honor but also responsibility to be chosen for the new Mufti, one of the greatest dignitaries in the Islamic community in Serbia.

- It would be better if it happened in some other situation, and not by resignation of the former Mufti. But, all because of that, it is an even bigger responsibility.  I wish to integrate the Muslim community into Serbian brotherhood, no matter what origin someone may be. We have to share good and bad, to be the unity of all citizens - he said and adds that he doesn't know when will he come to Serbia.

He said that his spiritual father Hamdija Jusufspahic thought him everything.

- He was more than a family. He took care of me when the closest ones didn't. He was closer than the family.

When he was 16, the search for the truth began, and his first contact with the Muslim was in 1969, with an Arabian student on the Republic Square in Belgrade, from which he got 300 dollars for the trip to India, and he learned then what are fake dollars.

Abdulah, together with 4 more friends, traveled for a month, arrived to Istanbul by train, and then to Nepal with a van. He finished three colleges: Faculty of Islamic Studies and Philosophy, Faculty of Social Sciences and Faculty of Business and Management, he got his master's degree on the subject of "Islamic theology".

Soon after this trip, when he was 19, he changed his religion, and these are the reasons for his conversion:

- Love of the people towards God, the ones that built mosques affected me. That coincided with the fact i was surrounded with good people, and also the Muslims i met in life appeared to be extraordinary good people - he said at the time, adding that he was a misunderstood child, a rebel, and when he decided to change religion, rarely anyone from the family kept it touch with him, he heard the most from his aunts, painter Ljubica Cuca Sokic and actress Ruzica Sokic.
