DRAMATIC AND SPECTACULAR EXPLOSION OF TITO'S SHIP: "Vis" submerged (PHOTO) (VIDEO)

With almost 40 kilograms of explosive, former admiral ship "Vis", which was carrying even Josip Broz Tito, was successfully submerged on Sunday in spectacular and dramatic action on the west cost of Kamenjak. Few thousands of people were watching and around 200 ships on the shore.

"Vis", the first intentionally and legally submerged ship in Croatia, owned by Arsen Brajkovic from Pula. He invited first group of divers on Sunday and starting from tomorrow, there will probably be ships docking on to it for organized diving. It was built in 1956. in Uljanik, sits up strait, in the most attractive position for divers, and its a bit south from the cove Polje, near the cove Plovanije, with the bow facing north, around 250 meters from the shore.

With massive detonations, ship 58 meters long, unlike the previous announcement of a slow plunge into waters, it literally rushed to the depths, so fast that the two divers who were detonating the explosive, were stuck in the see on fire under their feet. Organizer's speedboat took them out of the water. But, the speed surprised us all, Zeljko Kamerla, diving instructor who got this task of submerging, told us that everything went as planed.

- First they detonated at the middle, than towards the bow. As far as i saw, the boat landed well, and now we will dive into it and make sure it is the case. It was planned for bombers to stay on shop. I can not say its not dangerous, but that was the plan - concluded that around 25 - 40 kilos of explosive was used. 

Detonation was so strong that many shook on the shore - first one hit around 13:50 below the sides, lifted a high stream of water and the spit started tilting to it's left side. Minute after there was second explosion, and right under two bombers - engineer  Branko Stanisic and Vladimir Krajcar. In that moment, the stern went down fast, and the bombers were taken thanks to the fast response of the emergency team on speedboats. In lest than a minute, the whole ship sunk.

I am glad! When will I be able go down to "vis"? In few days time, after i have had my rest. by then, the divers have "Days of open doors" - said clearly exhausted but happy, Brajkovic.

Let us remind ourselves. the ship was bought in Montenegro in 2002. To reconstruct this luxurious mega yacht and other financial problems, he never did. Hence to "vis"  he intended other role.
