The latest proposal from the European Commission about the transfer of Kosovo to the list of visa-free regime for short stays in the Schengen Area should not apply "to the document type," but "for all residents of the territory where the data liberalization", it was added in response to a question that the Office has made to her by Kos sev.
The European Commission on Tuesday proposed to the EU Council and the European Parliament to abolish visas for the citizens of Kosovo for short stays in the "Schengen zone". The Commission has also published a positive assessment stating that Kosovo has met the requirements for visa liberalization.
EU Commissioner for Migration and Home Affairs Dimitris Avramopoulos said in Pristina that, following the adoption of recommendations on visa liberalization for the citizens of Kosovo, only Kosovo passports will be accepted.
Asked by journalists of RTK2, Serbian Kosovo television channel, what will happen to the citizens whose passport was issued by Serbia, or Coordinated administration, and to which has so far visas were necessary, he said: "Let me be clear. Only Kosovo passports will be accepted".
To her question whether these people should now take Kosovo passports or Serbia should give them "normal" passport, he reiterated that, with regarding the system of visa-free travel, just Kosovo passports will be accepted, and that any other questions should be addressed to the Prime Minister of Kosovo.
