Karadzic and the Hague Tribunal's prosecution have the right to appeal the judgment.

Until the judgment is final, Karadzic will stay at the Hague Tribunal's detention unit.

The Hague Tribunal convicted the first president of Republika Srpska, Radovan Karadzic, of genocide against the Muslim population in the area of Srebrenica in 1995, crimes in Sarajevo, hostage-taking and a large number of war crimes in seven Bosnian municipalities.
