Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic received on Tuesday, March 22, long jumper Ivana Spanovic, who won the silver medal at the recent World Indoor Championships in Portland, wishing her to keep the momentum for the Rio Olympics.

Minister of Youth and Sport Vanja Udovicic, Spanovic's coach Goran Obradovic and Secretary General of the Athletics Federation of Serbia Slobodan Brankovic also took part in the meeting at the prime minister's office.

In the conversation, Vucic voiced the hope that the effort the Serbian government had made, by financing a new arena for athletes, getting funds for their preparations and ensuring that rewards for remarkable results are paid within the shortest possible time frame, would give them an added impetus and motivation in the Olympic year.

In Portland, Spanovic set a new national record with a 7.07 m leap.
