- By doing this, Serbia became the first European country which implemented this law since 2009, when the "Terezin declaration" was supported by the USA government - it stands in the statement from the embassy, and it is added:
- This law is the key element of the final decision about the law frame for the property taken away from the Holocaust victims. Members of the Jewish community in Serbia will get 950.000 Euro per year starting from the January 2017 for the next 25 years.
The partnership of Serbia with the Jewish community in Serbia, USA, Israel, and other governments and international NGO sector, including the World Jewish Restitution Organization (WJRO) will be key for the success of this project.
USA embassy called other countries to implement this law in order to secure the justice for all the Holocaust victims.
