Police officers were shocked how composed they were while they were providing details.
- Milan Petrović was sitting up front, while Milić was behind the driver. When he drew them to the destination, he gave them the bill. They started laughing, saying they did not have money. He insisted on being paid, and they went on making jokes about it. This erupted into a fight and Ilić took a knife at one moment and slew the driver - said the source from the investigation process.
When he saw what happened, Petrović jumped the seat and left the vehicle through the back right door.
- After they ran away, they were wandering a bit through the village and then they hid at the relative's house who knew nothing about what had happened. He took them back to the city in the morning where they were immediately arrested.
- He killed a guy and he was talking about this like he was retelling some C movie script. He was pertinent, arrogant, and he showed no remorse for doing this.
According to "Alo!" news agency Petrović was arrested first and he told the police everything.
The two of them confessed to the crime, but they said that their plan was to rob some taxi driver because they owed the money to a loan shark.
People have said nothing but the good things about the deceased driver and his family:
- This is a honorable and well-mannered family, they are diligent and nice so it not a surprise that many people came to the funeral - said one of his neighbors, and another one added:
- Čeda and his wife are diligent and fair people. He had a heart condition but he was still trying to make some money so that they could have a normal life. Two kids, one on college, one in high-school, it takes money to sustain everything. His wife works as a clerk in the City's Public health Institute, I do not know how she will manage it alone.
