According to the media, the virus first attacked his lungs, and then the whole body.
His heartbeat dropped more and more, then the young scientist fell into a coma, and he never woke up
Brković died suddenly last Friday, in Brussels, after he received his PhD title on December 16, a day before his 29th birthday.
The work he presented was dedicated to creating a system which will enable Serbian agricultural products to go to the world market.
Filip wanted to improve this idea in Serbia and implement what he had learned during his education.
- A work like this has not yet been presented. This young man, extremely energetic, should be the pride and the hope not just for this university, but for the whole society which strives for the better - said Filip's mentor, professor Dr Matthew Watson, from the Worrick University in Brussels.
After he got his PhD title, Filip called his friends with whom he has been making plans and dreams for the future.
- I cough a bit, I want to take some rest, and then we will start changing the world - he wrote.
A couple of days after he congratulated them the holidays, and there was the first drawing of his wife and son. This was his last message.
Immeasurable pain, almost palpable, took over the family house of his parents, father Ivo, mother Jelena, and his sister Dijana, who passed the legal bar examination just before her brother died.
They did not have the time to celebrate together his PhD title and her exam.
There has always been a song coming out of their house in Belgrade (his father is a member of the choir "Krsmanac", a long-time worker of the Radio Belgrade), Filip knew how to play the guitar and the violin, as well as he was working in the science field.
A close relative of the family, Stanko Brković, one of the founders of Studio B, said for the "Novosti" news agency:
- Since he was a kid, he was always the first among everyone. The youngest, but the best. He graduated from the Faculty of political sciences, International affairs, in three years. Average grade, 10.00. He went on studying master studies in political analyses and management in Cambridge, as a scholarship holder of the British government.
Stanko went back to the period when Filip was in grammar school.
Even then he was an excellent student. He made a special manual called "How to learn Serbian grammar in the most easiest way".
And not just then, Filip had this gift of narration, wondrous ideas, and interests.
More than that, he was interested in the traditional.
He wanted to know his roots and he took the most valuable lessons from them.
- He wanted to see the place of origin of us, the Brković family. We went together to the village of Velike, under Čakor mountain. Our family went form there to Metohija province. He wished to see the Peć Patriarchate, to sleep under the old tree - said Stanko.
While he was studying, he met the love of his life, Katarina, from the city of Topola.
- They were together in college. Katarina is a PhD student in Brussels now, they had a son named after the Michael the Archangel. They both had the most beautiful plans for life. Realistic, yet zealous.
Stanko Brković stopped here. After this sentence, words are scattered...
- He was so modest that he used his Cambridge scholarship to buy a flat in Mirijevo. He never asked for a dime of his parents. He bought that flat, he did not want to go to the center. I am deeply distressed while I look at this photo: he and his mother Jelena, at the graduation ceremony. According to the rules, one of the parents should be there.
I saw him and we spoke, for the last time, around a year ago when his grandmother from his father's side died.I remember that, on his wedding ceremony, he took his wife Katarina and started dancing the Montenegrin folk dance. If you had just seen him then... You would have loved him as he is loved and respected by his friends in Serbia and in the whole world, because he had love for everybody. He could hug the whole world with love.
O dear God, how could he die?
Filip Brković's funeral service will be held tomorrow afternoon at the Orlovača cemetery.
Faculty of Political sciences will hold a memorial service on Thursday in the amphitheater at 17.30.
The first live show of Filip Brković was in the show "While the angels are sleeping" by the author Marina Rajević Savić. Filip was only 12 years old.
In the show, the author presented the school principal, and she choose Filip as her guest.
A boy in a white shirt, with a bow tie.
His first show was a real treat for the audience.
His class professor and English professor in the grammar school was Lidija Beko.
- I would really like to see them all: Vesna, Marina, and Lidija, but I do not know to gather them all in one place - he said, like he was sensing that this meeting will never take place.
