GOJKO AND DARKO ARE THE PRIDE OF SERBIA! They made a ROBOT which helps the blind people and won the America over! (VIDEO)

A small white robot is programmed to see the obstacles and avoid them

Gojko Panić and Darko Birač from the town of Kać, the 7th graders of the elementary school "Đura Jakšić" have won the first place on a program competition in America because they created a robot that assists the blind people.

HE SHOULD BE THE PRIDE OF ALL OF US, YET SERBIA KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT HIM: This is Pavle (18), visually impaired world champion in chess!

Now they are getting ready for the Innovation fair in Geneva, Switzerland.

The idea came to them last year when they were present at the same competition organized by the Association of IT sciences with their professor Jasmina Jerković.

- There they met a blind man, and were fascinated how he can find his way and how he fits into society even though he could not see. That is why they decided to think of something to help people like that, and that is how the small robot was created. Still, not everything went as easy as that, there was much hard-work, pain, and many obstacles in that - says the proud teacher.

The two of them in a 2-minute-video showed how their robot can help the slow-sighted people and soon the great news came.

They won the first prize.

The small white robot was programmed to detect the obstacles and avoid them, like a small guide for blind people.

Apart from that, these young geniuses invented a program through which the robot can talk, and it drains the energy from a USB device.

- This means a lot to me, but I believe that it means more to the people who cannot see. I was very surprised and happy an I knew that this was going to be a step for further programming. We would like to deal with that in the future too - said Darko.

Gojko and Darko do not have great conditions in the school because there are 400 students on only 3 computers.

That is why they are using their laptops and the professor gives her best to help them in any way possible.
