Aleksandar Džikić is the new coach of Basketball Club "Partizan NIS" Belgrade!

The management of the club decided to terminate the cooperation with the previous coach, Petaр Božić, and to replace him with a former assistant of Duško Vujošević

Aleksandar Džikić is the new coach of the Basketball club "Partizan NIS" Belgrade, it was stated at the official website of the club.

He is going to replace the previous coach, Petar Božić, with whom the club decided to terminate the future cooperation.

Džikić is going to have a difficult task as the first man of the team which is in a very bad situation with only 7 games before the end of the season in regional ABA league, ranking pretty low on the charts with the score 6:12.

Džikić is the solution which the fans will most probably greet, taking into consideration the fact that he proved himself after specialization in Minnesota, USA.

After the USA, he was the coach in Europe with teams "Olimpija", "Lietuvas Ritas", and "Krka". He took championship titles with both clubs from Slovenia.

The new coach of the "black-and-whites" was working as the secretary of the national team of FYR of Macedonia up to June, 2015.

Before that, he coached "Krka" from the city of Novo Mesto, Slovenia twice, "Olimpija" from the city of Ljubljana, and "Lieatuvas Ritas".

While staying in the US, Džikić spent 2 years as the assistant coach of Minnesota Timberwolves.

In the period from 1999 up to 2005 he was a sub-coach of the BC "Partizan NIS" Belgrade, as the assistant to Duško Vujošević.

In his career, he has won European Challenge Cup, 4 championship titles in Slovenia, and 2 National cups, also in this country.

As the assistant coach in BC "Partizan NIS", he won 4 titles of the State championship and 2 National cups.

The management of BC "Partizan NIS" Belgrade published a statement on the website giving their thanks to Petar Božić for his service for the club, and stated that their doors will always be open for him.
