Dikovic meets with military doctors helping migrants

Serbian Armed Forces (VS) Chief of General Staff, General Ljubisa Dikovic, visited members of the Nis military hospital who are providing medical services to a large number of migrants in Presevo, southern Serbia

After talking to migrants, Dikovic saw that the immigration reception center is very important to the migrants' safety and recovery after their long journey, the VS said in a release.

Serbia will not build lasting reception centres for migrants

The center for reception of migrants from Syria, Eritrea, Pakistan, Afghanistan and other countries, to whom Serbia is a passing stop on the road to the European Union, was opened in Presevo, near the border with Macedonia, on July 8.

A number of staff of the military hospital in the southern Serbian city of Nis was sent to help migrants, particularly woman with small children, in mid-June, before the center in Presevo was opened officially.

Dikovic also visited members of the VS serving at 'South' military base near Bujanovac and a unit monitoring the security situation on the territory close to the border with Macedonia.
