Selakovic: Prosecution task forces to handle corruption

Serbian Minister of Justice Nikola Selakovic has said for Thursday's issue of Belgrade-based daily Blic that special prosecutorial departments will be set up to combat financial crime and corruption

"We have prepared a draft law on the organization of competencies of state bodies in the fight against organized crime and corruption, and it will be in public debate soon," said Selakovic.

According to Selakovic, it was proposed to set up within the higher prosecutor's offices in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Kragujevac and Nis special departments with prosecutors specialized in tackling financial crime and corruption.

"They will be able to form task forces that will be composed of police officers, tax collectors and customs officers. Each of the prosecutors we will have at least one financial forensic expert available to work with," added Selakovic.
