Summer is the season with a growing number of unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases, especially for young people who do not take care of contraception and protection from sexually transmitted diseases before engaging in sexual intercourse.
And unfortunately, while most of the girls have the most expensive bag, the question is whether most of them carry a means of contraception. This does not mean that men should not worry about contraceptives, as well as girls, but let's face it, most of them don't, writes "Novi List".
In response to the news reporter's question of whether there are higher purchases of pregnancy tests compared to other seasons, physicians respond that this is true, but only because there is a much higher frequency of people in the summer so the search for pregnancy tests is higher than at any other time in the year.
The "day after" pill which can be bought in Croatian pharmacies without a prescription is wanted goods in Zadar pharmacies, especially during the tourist season. The reason being that a lot more foreigners are buying than Croatians.
- Our women are pretty reserved when it comes to the morning-after pill. It is a tablet which until recently could only be bought with a prescription so many women do not know that they can simply come into a drugstore while foreigners are a lot more relaxed. For them, this tablet has been available without a prescription for years and they will unashamedly enter a pharmacy and buy it, while our women still do not do so easily. We are a small community and our women are still wondering whether the neighbors will see them buying "the day after" pill. But for those who wants to buy it, we will be happy to serve them - doctors say.
Foreigners unashamedly buy the "day after pill", while Croatian women abstain, says Novi list.
