FIRST PERSON VIDEO FOOTAGE: I was going to run over the Sava River in Belgrade, and then I encountered mice, feces and got stuck in deep mud (PHOTO) (VIDEO)

We acted like a smart-aleck and tried to cross the river. Here's what happened to us

A tropical heat wave has swept over Serbia in the last few days, and everyone is trying to keep cool and fresh. Despite all this, team Telegraf noted that the Cukaricki rukav (sleeve) in Belgrade, has partially dried up, and instead of water there is cracked and dry soil.

We went to the scene and tried to cross to the other side. At first glance, it seemed too easy, we even hesitated whether to put our boots on, because according to what we saw, the land was more than dry.

A HELLISH SUMMER COMES TO SERBIA: TROPICAL DAYS without a drop of water are on their way. This is where the sun will FRY everything in sight!

A Telegraf report donned boots, thinking it would be enough to get to the other side. What first surprised him was the unpleasant odor that was felt around the sleeve. Around him he could see empty bottles, leftover clothes, feces, mice...

Having made the first step, he realized that what he imagined would in fact not be so feasible, since his leg began to slowly fall through the soft earth, which at first glance seemed very tight.

He kept walking, and moving towards the water, with the intent of crossing, but with each next step it was getting harder and harder.

At one point his foot sunk so deep that he thought he would not be able to pull it out. He was trying to get it out, but the more he pulled, the more he kept sinking. He tried to resist with the other foot, but it remained trapped.

He could not move, because if he did, the mud would "swallow" him even more.

At the right moment, a gentleman who was nearby, ran up and helped our journalist get out of the ground, that swallowed him up. We believe that had that gentleman not been there, it would have been critical.

All in all, we could not cross the river, even though it is dried up, but that does not mean that we did not try.
