A JEALOUS HUSBAND KILLED HIS WIFE, AND SHOT AT HIS DAUGHTER: This crime shocked Croatia!

The man decided to end his life and shot himself in the head. He is currently in life threatening condition

Damir Matan (50) from Karlovac killed his wife Snezana and immediately tried to take his own life, after a night spent at the police station. The couple was arguing that night, and the police had to intervene and detain Damir. However, it is obvious that that did not calm him down.

Upon being released from prison, he started a fight with Snezana, and at about 5 pm,  locked her and the rest of the family members in the house. As stated previously, his daughter witnessed the whole ordeal.

As witnessed by people, Damir reportedly first struck his mother-in-law, then shot at his daughter Ivana while she was flying down the hall with her grandmother.

- At about 5 pm, I heard shouting, screaming and fighting in front of their house. Two, three women ran toward the spouses and shouted "Let her go, let her go," - explains a neighbor, adding that they heard several gun shots.

Special police arrived on the scene and asked the man who was locked in the house to cooperate, but he refused and blocked their entrance. After an hour or two, the man decided to end his life and fired a shot.

The man was first admitted to the Karlovac General hospital with head injuries, but was transferred to KBC Dubarava in Zagreb later that evening. He is in life threatening condition.

Spouses Matan have two grown daughters. The killed wife Snezana, works as a hairdresser and taught practical training to students in a secondary school. Neighbors say that the spouses were quiet and polite people, but  had their share of marital problems. They think that the cause of the tragedy is jealousy.
