Kristina Tuckute brings her "jet-set" lip glosses to Serbia!

Lithuanian model Kristina Tuckute reveals for Telegraf how she made business of her make up fetish that becomes status symbol of girls around Europe

One of the most beautiful models in the fashion industry who swept the catwalks of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century used her fame in designing her own make up line.

Her name is Kristina Tuckute and thanks to her own passion for lip glosses as the most important tool in a woman's makeup bag, she stepped into European jet set.

Her adorable lip glosses, that have recently  been used in Cannes by many famous ladies, will soon be available in Serbia under the name "It's Secret by Kristina Tuckute" . In light of this, we asked this stylish Lithuanian beauty all about her very popular make up line, as well as her beauty habits.

You had an envious career as a model. What would you mark as your biggest success of that period in your life?

I had the privilege of working with some of the greatest Designers of our time like Georgio Armani, Gianfranco Ferre, Roberto Cavalli and doing campaigns for brands such as Wolford, La Perla, Triumph, Parah and many more throughout my career and my true success is not so much the glitz and and glamour but rather the financial independence and life lessons learned from such a difficult, but great industry, that is the known as the fashion world...

Now, people recognize you for your make up collection of luxury lip glosses. Why exactly lip glosses? Is that a part of your make up fetish?

Lip gloss for me, its the most important tool in one's make up inventory. As a model and a mom I don't usually put a lot of make-up on a daily basis, but a lip gloss or a lip stain is a must to revive and make your face glow even without any mascara or eye shadow.

Men used to say that a woman is the most beautiful in the morning, without any make up on. What would you say to them?

I would say that they are right! Only in the morning one can see a true woman’s face when she can't hide her perfect imperfections and that is exactly what is beautiful about women. On the other hand, men don't know if the morning is our best moment of the day (laugh). Maybe I should do a cosmetic line for men…

You used to walk the runway shows along with many famous models. Who would you name as the prettiest woman in the world?

I don't have one model in particular, but every and each of them has something special that makes them famous. For example, no one can rival Naomi's catwalk, or Kate Moss’s baby face or Gisele’s natural and simple beauty! For me, it’s not the most beautiful “woman”, but would be the most beautiful “women”.

Obviously, the inspiration for your lip gloss line comes from the magic of the four seasons. Is there a reason why?

I wanted to create a palette of colours for lips that matched all the seasons. With these colours you can match any outfit and style. Luxury is very strongly expressed in  the design of that gorgeous lip gloss pack. Who are they intended for? Can it be afforded by every woman who keeps up to her own appearance? The design is very important for me, I wanted to express what I think in a fashion sense, such as elegance, minimalism, glamour and comfort.

I have also created a “Gem collection” which consist of re-usable caps made from Silver and white diamonds or Gold plated silver with white diamonds, black diamonds, rubies or sapphires. So whether it is a gloss from the standard collection or a gloss from the “Gem collection”, every woman that wants to be special can find a lip gloss, lip stain or a lip plumper that suits her needs and that she can afford. This design allows ladies to take it out at any dinner table or any other event without any hesitation. A woman with a lip gloss like this can be sure that she will be the most stylish one of the night.

You grew up in Lithuania. How much do Lithuanian women take care of their beauty? And what would you say about woman in Serbia?

In Lithuanian culture women start to take care of themselves from a very young age. I remember at school before going to class there was a big mirror and a huge line of girls that checked their make up and I was one of them. It's a very important factor in a Lithuanian woman's life, if they have one euro, they will spend it on some beauty product. I would love to know Serbian women better, but the few that I already know have strong personalities and, like the Baltic women, they are extremely attractive, strong and always take care of their appearance. To Serbian women I would say: beauty is timeless and the most important is to maintain yourself.
