1 billion RSD in narcotics burned

Around 446 kg of narcotics and other controlled substances, with a street value of around 1 billion RSD, were burned at the coal power plant Nikola Tesla in Obrenovac on Thursday

More than 25 kg of heroin, around 415 kg of marijuana, over 1 kg of hashish more than 4.5 kg of psychoactive substances used to increase the quantity of narcotics were destroyed.

The substances that were disposed of had been stored at the police headquarters in Jagodina and escorted by the police on the way to the power station, said the Minister of Internal Affairs in a statement.

This was the 7th such operation and is part of a larger effort to destroy seized narcotics that have been kept in police stations since 1995.

Destruction of narcotics at the Nikola Tesla power plant will continue, says the statement.
