RISTIC WILL NOT PLAY FOR THE NATIONAL TEAM: Red Star is more important to me than Serbia!

The talented pearl of Serbian football at the moment believes that it is more important to be ready for the start of next season, rather than appear at the festival of the largest pearls in the World of Football

Refusing to play for the national team is not a novelty in Serbian sport, but it  is mostly present in some other sports, less in football. However, it seems that that this phenomenon is occurring more often, but what is now worse is that kids who are just beginning their careers feel that it is more important to play for smaller teams rather than the national team.

One of them is obviously the extra talented Red Star midfielder, Mihailo Ristic around whose playing in the youth national team of Serbia at the World Cup has raised a lot of dust, much like around his teammate Luka Jovic.

In the moments when the selector, Veljko Paunovic choses players up to 20 years of age makes a list for New Zealand, after the match with Cukaricki, he received the information that the attacker Club at MaraKana injured his knee and that this season was over for him, but what was most surprising was the announcement from the club that Mihailo Ristic was set to have his tonsils removed.

Immediately, everyone raised the question, why right now? Which frankly does not sound urgent, at a time when he should be one of hopes of

"Orlic" and at the competition where all the pearls of football will be seen, but we did not wait too long for an answer. The young football player spoke up.

Red Star with empty stands until the end of the championship?!

- I have tonsillitis and my goal is to be ready for the start of next season and start qualifications for European competitions. Doctors recommended that I undergo surgery as soon as possible, because the procedure is imminent which means I will pass on this great event. The interval between the two seasons is short, and I have a more important match for Red Star - said Ristic for "Sport".

It is understandable, on the one hand, that Ristic wants to be in better shape and completely healthy going into the next season, providing for an even better game at his club, but also, playing for the national team is an honor and obligation, in addition to an opportunity to be seen by many scouts of foreign clubs who will surely be at the World Cup in the far New Zealand.
