Vucic: Serbia wants good relations with neighbours
Serbia wants to preserve peace, stability and good relations with neighbours, Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic has said, adding that he does not want to respond to insults coming from some politicians in the region
"Some in the region often underestimate and insult us, but our silence in the face of their insults is a reflection of strength, not of our weakness," Vucic said on Wednesday, responding to reporters' questions about a statement by MEP Ruza Tomasic, president of the Croatian Conservative Party, who recently said that "if Croatia starts cleaning its backyard, many Croatian Serbs will have to leave for Serbia."
Vucic said that "the silence has demonstrated that we are responsible and serious people who are not afraid of anyone, but who want to preserve good relations with neighbours."
It has also been demonstrated that "patience and tolerance is our incomparably stronger side" compared to fiery rhetoric that would bring short-term political gain, he added.
