Vucic to visit U.S. in June, expects relations to improve
Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic has said that his forthcoming visit to the United States was very important and he expected “even better relations with the United states” to result from it
“Serbia wants to have as good relationship with the United States as possible. The policy of our government is taking care of Serbia’s future and in this light, we hope that we will have even better political and economic relations with the U.S., not wishing to jeopardize good relations with other states by that,” Vucic told Belgrade-based daily Blic, according to which the prime minister will officially visit the United States in early June, rather than in September as announced earlier.
We will let others analyze the past, the prime minister said, as “our job is fulfilling our commitments and showing we are a reliable partner to the U.S. in this part of Europe. We hope we will have the support of America on our European path.”
Prime Minister Vucic will be received by U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, with whom he will discuss bilateral relations, the Kosovo issue and strengthening economic ties between Serbia and the U.S., with an emphasis on increasing U.S. investments in Serbian agriculture, Blic said.
