Construction of three production halls starts in Smederevo

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic on Saturday laid the cornerstone for three production halls in the Smederevo industrial zone, to be constructed by local authorities and an Italian investor

A 3,000 sq m hall will be built by the city of Smederevo in collaboration with interested investors. The construction works are worth RSD 113 million, and the hall will be completed on July 22.

The other two halls will be built by the Italian company CCVI, which manufactures ball bearings for the defence industry. The halls' surface totals 4,000 sq m and the investment is worth EUR 4 million. Both halls are expected to be complete in November and provide jobs for 100 people.

Major plans and projects await Belgrade, Prime Minister Vucic says

Smederevo Mayor Jasna Avramovic said that a customs terminal and a company managing the free zone will be established, and that there are plans to hire a total of 500 workers in the area.

At the ceremony, Vucic said that he is pleased that all three halls will be built by Serbian companies, wishing the Italian investors a long period of profitable operations in Serbia, with as many workers hired from Smederevo and its vicinity as possible.
